Computational neuroscientist developing anatomy-driven models of cortex-wide cognition across scales and species.

About

Seán leads the Cognition, Anatomy & Neural Networks (CANN) group across the University of Oxford and Trinity College Dublin. His research asks how the anatomical organisation of the cortex gives rise to distributed cognitive computations, and how changes in anatomy or neuromodulation reshape neural dynamics and behaviour.

He is a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow at the Oxford Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging, Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, and a Research Assistant Professor in Artificial Intelligence at Trinity College Dublin. He has also been elected to a Research Fellowship in the Sciences and Mathematics at St John's College, Oxford, beginning October 2026.
